Celebrating 25 Years in Northern Thailand
Dear Friends:
For the last 25 years, over 1000 Hmong Refugee children have lived at Kathy’s Home while attending the local high school. We feed, clothe, shelter, provide medical treatment and educate them from ages 5 to 18. Over 35 children and teenagers have received college degrees throughout Thailand. One of them is this young man, Ponphet, who was an engineering student when I first met him over 20 years ago in a Hmong village.
God continues to bless this ministry with opportunities to build additional homes in remote villages such as Namtaoung near the Laos border. In addition, we are helping two refugee camps in Myanmar and are looking to serve the worthy poor around the world. We are humbled by the Lord’s leading, His Protection, His Provision and His Faithfulness! I believe our hearts have been pure and honest before God especially when times have been tough. 25 years in Thailand has prepared us to reach out to the other "Least" in Burmese refugee camps and Bangkok slums and the slums along the Kathmandu river. We are very excited about the next 25 years!
Farming God’s Way
On August 6, I will travel to Indianapolis to learn from the experts in farming, Agristewards. Their mission is to recruit American farmers to go empower communities with the knowledge of our Savior and agriculture to improve their livelihoods. Farming God’s Way is a way to teach developing countries soil conservation, and proper farming practices. It’s a method based on biblical principles with a focus on farming.
A group recently returned from the border of Thailand and Burma where they trained over 200 locals in vegetable farming and soil conservation. I look forward to networking and sharing my experiences in Burma and Thailand and to learn practical methods to farm with less. https://www.agristewards.org
